Riverside Rocky Ready for Bounce Back Battle against Mike Arnaoutis

Golden Boy Promotions in unison with Fantasy Springs Casino & Resort in Indio, California, brings you live boxing. The main event features a homecoming for So-Cal native, Josesito “Riverside Rocky” Lopez, (30-6) 18 KO’s versus Mike Arnaoutis (24-9-1) 11 KO’s. The co-main event will be explosive with Francisco Vargas (17-0-1) 14 KO’s taking on Jerry Belmonte (18-2) 5 KO’s.

Francisco “El Bandito” Vargas vs. Jerry “The Corpus Christi Kid” Belmonte

This 10 round co-main event will have the NABF and WBO Intercontinental Junior Lightweight titles on the line. The tough Jerry Belmonte is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Andrew Cancio, after defeating Daniel Diaz by majority decision in an 8 rounder back in April. The current champion Francisco Vargas is highly skilled which I recently got to witness when he dismantled Brandon Bennett in the same arena this past August. Vargas will look to stay undefeated and hang on to his straps.

The 10 round main feature of the night should be an entertaining one when the Greek from Queens, New York Mike “Mighty Mike” Arnaoutis takes on Riverside, California’s Josesito “Riverside Rocky” Lopez. After breaking Victor Ortiz jaw and earning the win, Lopez had back-to-back TKO losses to top-notch fighters in Marcos Maidana and Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez. Lopez looks determined and focused to get back on track for a title shot. “If everything goes well, I’m going to get big names I want to be a world champion in 2014” Lopez said in a brief interview we had. Arnaoutis is also coming off a pair of losses, two 10 round unanimous decision bouts to Chris Algieri and Issouf Kinda, after a TKO win over Broderick Antoine.

The fight card is stacked from top to bottom with the likes of Joel Diaz Jr., Errol Spence Jr., Jermall Charlo, and Diego De la Jolla to name a few. An added bonus to the night will be Chris “Nightmare” Arreola who will be in attendance to meet and greet fans at the event center.
