Fury’s fight with Klitschko postponed after Wlad suffers leg injury

Tyson Fury’s mega-fight with IBF,WBA, WBO and IBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko has been delayed due to a leg injury sustained by the champion.

Klitschko has picked up a leg injury, though to be a pulled tendon in his calf, has pulled out of the clash with an announcement due on the rescheduled date.

Klitschko posted a video on Instagram to confirm the postponement. Klitschko said: “Dear fans, I’m sorry to inform you that I have to postpone my fight with Tyson Fury due to minor injury. I’m working hard on the rescheduling of the fight and as soon as I know, I will keep you posted on the new date.”

Klitschko told Bild: “Of course I’m mad sorry, for my fans but also for my opponent Tyson Fury.”

Fury was scheduled to fight at the ESPRIT Arena and Klitschko’s manager Bernd Bonte has stated that the rescheduled fight will still take place at the 55,000 seat venue.
