Heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury, has been named THE RING Fighter of the Year for 2015. The Klitschko brothers’ have dominated the division for what seems like a lifetime in boxing, after his stunning upset over Wladimir Klitschko in November, the division has once again come to life.
Fury is the first heavyweight champion from the United Kingdom since Lennox Lewis, and only the third of all time to win the prestigious title of Ring magazine fighter of the year.
Fury’s victory has turned the boxing world upside down, exposing Klitschko’s weaknesses, with the likes of Deontay Wilder, Anthony Joshua and Luis Ortiz on the rise, and the return of David Haye, the division is incredibly exciting.
Canelo Alvarez, Gennady Golovkin, Roman Gonzalez and Floyd Mayweather Jr. all accomplished big things in 2015, and were finalists for the award, but none made the impact on boxing that Tyson Fury did.
