Jack wants DeGale showdown, willing to also fight Chavez Jr.

WBC super middleweight champion Badou Jack has vowed to fight three or four times in 2016 and wants one them bouts to be a unification fight against IBF champion James DeGale.

Much talk has surfaced about a possible clash between the pair and DeGale has reiterated his desire to fight the Swedish born fighter, after his win over Lucian Bute in Quebec, Canada on Saturday.

“I would like to fight James DeGale, that would be a good unification fight, probably later next year, maybe [fight] three-four times next year,” Jack told Dontae’s Boxing Nation.

Jack defeated British challenger George Groves in September via a split decision and now is looking to set a date with Groves’ foe.

DeGale spoke about wanting the fight straight after beating Bute.

“I’ve beaten two elite fighters in my last two fights, and I’ve gone overseas to do it, and I want to do it all again by going to Las Vegas and unifying titles against Badou Jack,” DeGale said to the Matchroom press office.

Jack also spoke about talk regarding a fight with Julio Chavez Jr., stating he would be ready to face the former WBC middleweight champion should the opportunity arise.

When asked about a possible showdown with the Mexican, Jack responded, “It can happen tomorrow, I’m ready whenever but yeah I don’t know. [I’m] Just waiting to hear back from my promoters and we’ll be ready to go.

With both fighters peaking and reaching their potential, a clash in 2016 could see a treat for the fans as the slick DeGale would put his title on the line in the bright lights of Las Vegas against a hard working Jack.
