Amir Khan lends his name for a Philippines disaster Fundraiser

Amir “King” Khan has always been someone to lend his name for a solid cause and he fell nothing sort of that this week. Khan announced less than a week ago he’d be holding a Charity Dinner in Bradford at the city’s Hilton Hotel, to help those in need in the Philippines and it’s proven to be a success already.

The dinner, which is being held December 1st and being co-hosted by the Amir Khan Foundation and Heaton Labour Councillor, Rizwan Malik, have already sold out all available seats. It’s being estimated that the event will raise £81,000.

Khan, the former sparring partner to Manny Pacquiao and gym mate, felt the disaster hit close to home seeing how it affected thousands. Pacquiao himself has been very vocal in helping those in need, even planning a trip to ground zero once his fight against Brandon Rios was over.

Khan has been in the media a lot in the past several months, linking to Floyd Mayweather, Jr., as his possible next opponent for May 2014.

If you’d like to donate money for this cause, you can contact [email protected] for instructions on how to do so.
