Fury-Chisora rematch for July 26, final WBO eliminator

It was announced Monday that the anticipated heavyweight rematch between unbeaten Tyson Fury and contender Dereck Chisora will tangle on July 26 in Manchester at the Phones4U Arena in a final WBO eliminator, to be televised by BoxNation.

The two met in July 2011 as Fury won a unanimous decision over a shapely Chisora who didn’t seem to be at his best. Chisora went on to prove himself a quality fighter in defeat against Vitali Klitschko, but subsequently was knocked out by fellow Brit David Haye. He’s been on the rebound, picking up a number of wins against lower profile opposition to help setup the rematch.

Fury, though unbeaten, has n’t been perfect. He was dropped by former cruiserweight champion Steve Cunningham in his major US television debut, though he got up to stop Cunningham later in the bout.

The winner of this bout will be in line to challenge Wladimir Klitschko, who is the recognized heavyweight champion of the world.
