Giovani Segura stops Felipe Salguero
Giovani Segura (32-3-1, 28 knockouts) won on TKO in the 10th round against Felipe Salguero (19-5-1, 14 KOs). It was a war and Salguero took a lot of punishment.
Segura dropped him in the 4th with a left hook to the chin, but Salguero kept coming back, even giving Segura some good shots of his own.
That is, until the 10th when the referee stopped the fight at 1:55 after Segura dropped him again with a great combination.
The win sets up a showdown with unified flyweight champion Juan Francisco Estrada in what promises to be a Fight of the Year candidate.
On the undercard, experience overcame youth as Juan Francisco Rosas handed Alejandro Gonzalez Jr. his first defeat, winning an eight-round technical unanimous decision.
