Haymon posts bail for Tarver, covers 200k debt

TMZSports.com is reporting that former light heavyweight king Antonio Tarver has been bailed out of jail by boxing power broker Al Haymon. The influential Haymon has also covered Tarver’s $200k debt to the Wynn Casino in Las Vegas, a debt he racked up in July of 2012.

Tarver is reportedly jumping right into the gym in order to prepare for a ring return. He’s fought just once since a June 2012 disputed draw against Lateef Kayode that resulted in a positive PED test for Tarver. Tarver subsequently lost his commentating gig with Showtime and also lost out an an opportunity to call the boxing portion of the 2012 Olympics in London.

Tarver said he is hard up for cash and “hasn’t made a dime in two years”. One can now count the former Rocky Balboa co-star as the latest fighter to fall on hard times, necessitating a return to the ring to earn some cash.
