Miguel Cotto back in the ring as fierce as ever!
Miguel Cotto back in the ring as fierce as ever!
Tonight was an impressive night of boxing, which played out Live from Orlando, Florida, at the Amway center. Miguel Cotto knocked out his opponent, Delvin Rodriguez, in the 3rd round just 2:43 seconds into the round.
It was evident from the minute the bell rang that Cotto came into the ring meaning business. He showed dedication, heart and aggression.
There really wasn’t much else to say since the fight didn’t go too far but one thing is for certain, Miguel Cotto is back and with a vengeance.
Fight fans are eager to see him back in the ring against some of boxing’s toughest opponents and one man in particular is eyeing Cotto. That man would be none other than, Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez, who’s team made it vocal that they were interested in Cotto being Canelo’s next guy. But another fight that peaks my interest is seeing a rematch with Floyd Mayweather, Jr., perhaps next year on Cinco de Mayo. After all, it was a great fight and even Mayweather had issues with Cotto. It can generate large revenue and audience, without a doubt.
So what will be next for Miguel Cotto? When I asked him this past week at his final press conference, he made it clear he was not eyeing any other opponent other than Delvin Rodriguez and wasn’t paying any mind to the Team Canelo rumors. Definitely a veteran moves of Cotto to do so because like any seasoned opponent, you should never overlook the man in front of you.
But now that he has defeated Rodriguez in fashion, what is next?
