Quillin vs. Rosado fight is looking to be the fan favorite Oct 26th!

The co-feature to SHOWTIME’s October 26th broadcast of Bernard Hopkins’ title defense against Karo Murat is a middleweight championship showdown that looks like it could very well steal the show at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. Peter “Kid Chocolate” Quillin will defend his WBO Middleweight Championship almost one year to the day when he won it by defeating, Hassan N’dam, in Brooklyn last October.

His opponent is the tough Puerto Rican fighter out of Northern Philadelphia, Gabriel “King” Rosado.

Rosado who had spent his career fighting at Junior Middleweight and knocking out all challengers in 2012, has made the move to Middleweight in 2013. So far this year he’s had a valiant and courageous performance in a losing effort to the hard hitting Gennady Golovkin in his middleweight debut, then this past May on the Mayweather/Guerrero undercard suffered what was a highly disputed decision loss to J’Leon Love, but the fight was later ruled a no-contest by the Nevada State Athletic Commission after Love had tested positive for a banned diuretic.

Now after much support from his fans and a business related roadblock, Rosado gets a shot at the WBO world title October 26th.

Peter Quillin’s last defense came in April against Fernando Guerrero (who is his and Rosado’s only common opponent) where he won by TKO in round 7, dropping Guerrero 4 times in the contest. For Quillin, this may be the biggest defense of his career thus far.

This fight has all the makings of being a solid competitive fight. While both fighters have been on record as saying they are respectful of one another (while taking playful jabs at one another here and there on social media), they both have the drive and competitive nature to try and take the other out on October 26.

For fans, this is a “pick’em fight” and going through the social networks looking at the fans reaction of this fight taking place, it is really popular among the boxing community, even going as far as to say that this fight deserves the main event spot that night in Atlantic City.

Fans are split as to who will come out on top but one thing is for certain and that is to prepare for a good old-fashioned scrap October 26th.
