The latest talk of potential negotiations between Kell Brook and Amir Khan has been refuted by Taz Khan, the manager to Amir Khan. Promoter Eddie Hearn confirmed both parties were in negotiations, with Amir Khan keen on a summer showdown. This claim has been negated.
Taz Khan told Oun Abbas Hussain from Behind the Gloves, “Nothing has been discussed at all and everything is just hearsay.”
With the Brook-Khan fight one of the most sought after fights in the world, Khan has been holding out for a super showdown with eight-weight world champion Manny Pacquiao, although Team Khan could not provide any details.
While Khan’s next fight is uncertain yet, Brook has been ordered to fight his mandatory Kevin Bizier, Hearn confirmed.
“The IBF have ordered us to fight Bizier. We had an agreement to fight Chaves but if the fight’s not for the IBF world title then the agreement is void,” Hearn said to Sky Sports.
“We’re pushing forward for the Amir Khan fight and we expect it to happen at the end of May or early June. In the meantime, if we have to deal with the mandatory then it’s likely we’ll travel to America to do it because it’s more appealing there than here.”
