Pacquiao faces class action lawsuits for failing to disclose injury!
Thirteen class action lawsuits have been filed against Manny Pacquiao and his promoter, Top Rank, for failure to acknowledge that Manny had been injured prior to fight fans purchasing expensive PPV fees and over the top prices for tickets to watch the fight LIVE at the MGM Garden Arena.
According to ESPN, three each were filed in Nevada and California, two in Florida and one each in Maryland, New Jersey, Illinois, Texas and New York.
Those filing the suits made it pretty clear they felt Pacquiao mislead the general public into believing this fight was going to be the biggest fight in history, when in fact it fell short of the hype in part to the fact that Manny was not 100% healthy and failed to disclose this information.
Pacquaio and camp signed off on a questionnaire days prior to the big event stating he had no injuries, only to admit post-fight that he had a rotator cuff injury that required surgery. Manny has since gone under the knife and is expected to fully recover in about 9-12 months time.
But what does this say to the general public? Would this be considered stealing from the fans or did Manny actually think he was capable of fighting the P4P King, Floyd Mayweather, Jr., on just one fully working arm? Regardless, the fight fans didn’t get what they paid for and I wont be surprised at all if many others come forward, ultimately forcing Pacquiao to a large settlement.
