Top Rank’s CEO Bob Arum has confirmed that Manny Pacquiao’s next opponent is set to be Timothy Bradley. The fight is to take place at the MGM Grand on April 9.
Arum told the Manila Times today, as reported by Boxing News: “It’s a done deal and it’s going to be a third fight against Tim Bradley. We took a lot of consideration knowing Bradley has improved a lot as a fighter since the last time they’ve met in 2014,” Arum told The Manila Times today.
“Bradley is happy about it of course and that’s really a competitive fight for Manny. The report about Adrien Broner fighting Pacquiao is untrue.”
Arum also confirmed to BoxingScene that the deal was in place. “The deal is in place,” Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum told BoxingScene.com. “Manny still has to announce it, which should come (soon).”
This is the third fight between the pair. Pacquiao was defeated in June of 2012 with the result portrayed as very controversial. Pacquiao seemed to win the fight comfortably though the judges give a split decision in favour of Tim “Desert Storm” Bradley.
The second fight saw Manny Pacquiao avenge his loss in a comfortable manner with a unanimous points decision.
This decision will see Amir Khan and Terence Crawford disappointed, with both fighters also considered to face the Filipino fighter and now it seems Bradley has won the race for an opportunity to avenge his loss in 2014.
