Simple Questions for Alex Ariza
Simple Questions for Alex Ariza
Boxing strength and conditioning guru Alex Ariza has been pursued by every media outlet from A to TMZ. Few, if any are getting concrete responses to tough questions, after the Marcos “El Chino” Maidana victory over Adrien Broner in San Antonio, TX on December 14.
Ariza’s presence in the corner, as well as his actions, came under fire after the eleventh round. Ariza appeared to administer to Maidana with an alleged mystery substance on sterile dental rolls of gauze, after being hit late by Broner at the end of the round. Did he use smelling salts, which are strictly prohibited in Texas? Or did he use some other also illicit, PED? Controversy follows Ariza all over the world, from California, to Macau to Texas. Maybe– just maybe if he took the time to answer a few more questions than just those of specifically chosen journalists, and make himself honestly available to more outlets, the cloud of controversy would diminish somewhat.
What do we want to know?
• Why was Alex Ariza working Maidana’s corner as a cut man, instead of Dr. Roger Anderson, head trainer Robert Garcia’s usual cut man?
• What in his expertise as a strength-conditioning trainer, qualifies Alex Ariza to work in the capacity as a cut man?
• Was there any type of substance on the sterile gauze used in the corner?
• Describe what happened in Maidana’s corner between the eleventh and twelfth rounds.
Marcos Madiana defeating Adrien Broner is a major upset in the world of boxing, giving a hard working, well liked fighter a career highlight victory over a brash, undefeated bad guy. To have that victory overshadowed by the actions of one person, supposedly someone working for the betterment of the fighter demands to be addressed. Is Alex Ariza an amazing strength and conditioning coach, who excels at getting fighters in the best shape of their lives or- an egotistical danger to a fighter, only too ready to offer illegal substances in exchange for hard work?
We’re watching, waiting and listening to see.

Alex is a good man and there best trainer! Manny did his best work with Alex in his corner/camp. Let the boxing commission do their job and then he should have the media question him.

He worked the corner because they wanted him to !
His “expertise” or “non-expertise” in the handling of cuts was ok with the Garcia/Maidana corner…It’s what they wanted. They are quite capable of making the decisions !
He already responded to this…Maidana wanted nose blown, wanted it wiped…Ariza carries the round gauze like most do or Q-tips to clean out the nose..Is this something new to people ? Some sort of Miracle Drug on the cotton put to the nose…Uh, Ok (go for it-run a test).
Since Ariza controls all these grown men the very minute they hire him I guess he made Chavez Jr smoke dope and Rios drink gallons of Red Bull type drinks too….And all the boxers in a new gym come running to him wanting to take all the “Illegal” substances from day one…
On top of that when you have a Dip-shit like Victor Conte who was/is a mastermind with PEDs trying to point the finger at someone else after all the wrong he’s involved with…Well, that’s just Hilarious !
Alex is a “good man”? Where? Alex is a dirtbag, here, on Earth.
