David Haye has announced his comeback to the ring after a three and a half year layoff. He will face heavyweight Mark de Mori (30-1-2, 26 Ko’s) on January 16 at the O2 Arena in London.
Haye, who released a video last week indicating that the will be trained by Shane McGuigan, has been out of action through injury although now feels a new look team and a new inspiration will help him achieve his goals.
“It’s been a long three and a half years out with many ups and downs, but ‘The Hayemaker’ is finally back, and ready to do what I do best. I’ve got a new team, new look and new inspiration to achieve my goals,” Haye said, as reported by Chris McKenna of The Daily Star.
Haye last fought in 2012, beating fellow Londoner Dereck Chisora via a fifth round stoppage.
The Austrailian Mark de Mori last fought in Oct, beating Marcel Zeller by a first round stoppage.
Tickets for his comeback fight will go on sale on O2 priority tomorrow morning at 9am. More details of the card are yet to be revealed.
